"I called "Big Mike" at J & J to do a scan for a check engine light on my 2011 Hyundai Genesis. I used my OBD to determine a code for O2 sensor issues. Other mechanics charged me to tell me what I already knew. One said that Hyundai no longer made O2 sensors for that model so I was out of luck. Hyundai dealer said that they could get the O2 sensors but would take 2 weeks to get the parts. In addition, the dealer also said I needed a new catalytic converter, 2 O2 sensors, and flush of the transmission, coolant, and power steering systems. (The car passed DEQ just 13 mo earlier and I had all systems flushed in the same period.)
I called Mike and he stopped his work and kindly ran a test and did his due research. He said his scan showed NO converter issues but it needed two O2 sensors of which I informed him there were no parts available. I said if he could find all 4 sensor parts, to replace all of them at one time.
Mike made a call and found the sensors needed from his local supplier and booked me to have the repair done the next day. Mike DID finish the job the next day as promised..... once more at a reasonable price.
Mike and his son are straight up honest and fair mechanics with excellent skills and are top notch friendly people as well. J & J is now my one stop mechanic shop for all work on my vehicles and I will personally recommend these folks to anyone!"
"Called to see if they worked on diesel exhausts since I called about 10 other shops that didn’t work on anything over 3 inches. Big Mike answered and that next morning I brought my Cummins in and they got everything I needed done that day! He was even willing to go pick up 5 inch tubing from their supplier over an hour away. Ended up spending another hour and a half with the shop crew after the rig was done. Great people, great environment!"
